Over 200 practitioners showed up on the mat. Over 200 at the Banquet. You could not deny the jubilation and pride of honor for Doctor Moses Powell. Grandmasters, Professors, Masters, and Senseis from all over the world who trained with/under Doc from the 60's and 70's were there sharing with us all the history, the love of the man we all love. Grandmasters, Professors, Shihans and Senseis from the 80's, 90's, 2000's, goodness gratious Flash from The FIVE HEARTBEATS was there! Showing their love and dedication for the Doctor. It was indeed an honor to see Doc's wife, children, and grandchildren. It was a spectacular event that I was proud to participate in. Remember if you want to seek the knowledge you must go to the well. The one Doc represented to us! This well will never run dry. OOOOOOSE! Sensei Gerardo Muhammad (touched by the Doctor since1993)
The Moses Lake Food Bank Volunteers are expressing vindication following a recent front page news story in the Columbia Basin Herald titled "Moses Lake Food Bank feud." The story uncovers the behind-the-scenes cronyism and lack of openness and accountablity by Glen Goodman and other Moses Lake Food Bank Board members. Following are excerpts of the June 24, 2010 article written by Lynne Lynch: MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Food Bank came into controversy when the executive director resigned in April, followed by the majority of the organization's volunteers. The volunteers became outspoken about their ideas as to why the food bank lost Linda Finlay as executive director after more than 29 years. Finlay's supporters sent letters to the editor, posted comments on the Columbia Basin Herald Web site and posted commentaries on YouTube.com. Problems began much earlier, but a solution was sought during the summer of 2009. The work environment was tense, according to...a letter from Finlay...to the board. Finlay abruptly resigned from her position on April 29, saying little publicly during that time. "On April 29, after 29 years with Community Services of Moses Lake, better known as the Moses Lake Food Bank, I resigned due to circumstances beyond my control. I cherish the opportunity I had to freely help so many people for so many years," Finlay read in a statement. She recently spoke to Columbia Basin Herald about the events leading up to her departure. Finlay discussed an array of ...
A TRUE DIAMOND ! I knew that there was somewhere a video footage of this show, and now i finally got it !!! The SAS (Spike's All Stars) Band was consisted of Brian May's backing group: Cozy Powell, Neil Murray, Spike Edney, Jamie Moses & Tony Hadley from Spandau Ballet as the singer. The Concert was held on 10th October in 1994. at Belgrade's Dom Sindikata in Serbia. This were sad & hard times for my country Serbia (back then Yugoslavia) All the horrible things that could happen to some country, all of them happened to us. Now this concert at the beginning was an attempt to make the people of Yugoslavia feel better & happier. But behind the curtains it was completely different. The band didn't get a penny from the organizations (who apparently were also criminals). They couldn't get a hotel rooms in Yugoslavia (because of the UN Sanctions) so they stayed in Budapest (Hungary) and drove by car to Belgrade to do the concert. But they were hours late for the concert (also thanks to the organizations and to the driver who got lost ???), and many people from the audience left (thinking that the band isn't coming). One of my dear friends went to see them, and luckily enough he was patient to wait for them. After the concert they started their car journey back to Hungary about 3 in the morning. And the car in which Neil Murray was, broke down, so all of them had to stay another day in Budapest because they missed their flight to London. Really not many happy memories from bought ...
