Jackie Chan and 6 time kickboxing world champion Benny "The Jet" Urquidez squared off in one of the most legendary fights ever created. This was his first face-off with American champion kickboxer Benny "The Jet" Urquidez. This is one of the best fights ever filmed. Benny is a great fighter and a legend --good enough that he tested Jackie's skills to the limit. In fact, throughout the filming of this scene, Jackie teased him that they should fight a real match, not just a movie brawl. "Come on, Benny, let's do it," he'd say. And Benny would say, "Any time, Jackie, any time." Well, the time was always "sometime soon," and by the time the film was finished, he finally caught on that Jackie was just joking. "To be honest, I don't know who would have won if we did fight. He's that good", Jackie says. OK, Jackie, you are good but he is the real thing. Don't even think about trying to get in the ring with this guy.
I take a trip to the mountians outside Tokyo for a one day escape from urban life. It was nice to get out of the city, however brief. I got back in touch with the non-metrosexual manside by grilling meat over hot coals and having a warm schvitz. I wish I could do this every weekend, but sadly life in Tokyo is mostly working for the man. For those curious about costs and such: Log Cabin: 5000 yen (Per person, cabin sizes range from one person to groups of 6) Bar-b-que Rental: 2000 yen (including charcoal) Train ticket: 2600 yen one way (depends on which train though) Bus: 620 yen one way Onsen: 500 yen Groceries: 3000 yen Charring meat: Priceless English Ok. Pets Ok. But you must return the cabin to the state you found it in. I highly recommend this for families, especially if you can drive. Using public transport was a bit of a pain in the ass, and limits your options if you are staying for more than one night. ***Also, just a reminder I'll be broadcasting live on blogtv Wed and Thursday at around 11am Tokyo Time. My guest on Thursday will be Mike from the K-1 kickboxing video. He is back in town for work and will stop by to discuss readjusting to his new life Los Angeles after 20 years living in Tokyo. Should be a really fun time. Check out the webpage for info, and a time countdown to when the broadcast airs in your neck of the woods if you are confused by time zones. blogtv.com Seriously... check it out. Jake Tyler training to fight! Never Back Down is a 2008 film starring Sean Faris, Amber Heard, Cam Gigandet and Djimon Hounsou. It was theatrically released on March 14, 2008. Jake Tyler helps his high-school football team win an important game. A frustrated player from the opposing team makes taunts about Jake's father, who was killed while driving drunk. Infamously-hot-tempered Jake starts a brawl with the opposing player. Spectators capture said brawl with mobile phones and video-cameras. Soon, the brawl is uploaded to the internet. Jake gets thrown off the team for brawling, but takes it in stride because he is leaving this school anyway. He and his younger brother Charlie are moving with their widowed mom to Orlando, Florida...where Charlie has received a scholarship. The Tyler brothers are close despite Jake's penchant for fighting and getting into trouble, which greatly upsets their mom. At his new school, Jake has a hard time fitting in. He catches the eye of Baja Miller, a pretty classmate who flirts with him. Later, Jake notices fellow student Max Cooperman getting beaten up on campus. Jake rushes to Max's aid, only to discover that the "bullying" he disrupted was actually a street-kickboxing match. Everybody present, including Max, demands that the astonished Jake leave. At school the next day, Max lets it be known that that there are videos on the internet of Jake's football brawl, which has gained him a positive reputation on campus. Max invites Jake to come ...

Interview with kickboxer and movie stunt man Benny "The Jet" Urquidez at his gym. He explains his teaching methods, his philosophy of life and love - "if you can't do it for love, it won't last long" - his history with martial arts (he is an undefeated kickboxing champion, with 63 successful title defences, 57 of which resulted in knockouts), how he got into movies and his work with Jackie Chan on both "Wheels on Meals" and "Dragons Forever". Western movie audiences might recognise him most for appearing in "Grosse Pointe Blank" as the guy who fights John Cusack's character, Martin Blank, in the school.
