This is a rare old movie clip of the founder of Shotokan, Funakoshi Gichen, performing Meikyo kata. Meikyo is the Japanese name given to an Okinawan form said to be Rohai. This performance was filmed in 1924.

This is a clip of Master Funakoshi Gichen performing Kata Empi. This form is more commonly known as Wanshu in Okinawa. The film was made in 1924 and is one of only a few films of the Master.

In the autumn of 1971, Karate Bob disarmed a Croatian terrorist from Osijek, karate teacher Tomislav Rebrina. The man had drawn a gun and was planning to liquidate leading representatives of Yugoslavia in Sweden: Dusko Sekulic, Vukasin Milicevic, Sele Popovic, Slavko Zecevic and Karate Bob. After Karate Bob had overpowered his "karate colleague, he handed him over to the Swedish police, but only after Rebrina Tomislav had admitted that he was under orders from the Yugoslav Minister of Internal Affairs and the head of the SDB in Osijek to commit this crime, which fortunately could be prevented. A few months later, Bob Karate was arrested under the accusation that he had mistreated dozens of Ustashas and that he had supposedly raped a Swedish girl and held another woman hostage in his nightclub.
