it,s good yes why not if the changes given ,the more you learn the better ,tried to do some think different stick in one patten just to make you stress ,every dojo got thing special so why not we leaned from other dojo to.
It's ok. I tend to judge schools individually. I don't think it is fair to judge an entire organization or system based on isolated encounters.
As any true martial artist knows , the quality and frequency of your training will far outweigh the style you train in.
All my encounters with JKA practitioners have suggested that their interpretation of the hard is very rigid and it doesn't leave much room for individual interpretation. They are very stiff in their movements. They tend to let their hands drift pretty far out from their body and all too often when I ask them what they are doing in their form (kata) they don't seem to know.
J.K.A. is the leading authority of shotokan karate in the world. I may have to train with J.K.A. because Ive moved and the shotokan orginization Ive grown up with has no dojos near by.I feel this may confuse me somewhat because of a few differences in kata.

They seem to be keeping the style of shotokan on a set path.
