its right, it depends on the gym, and in what country you try to take it.. and how skilled the other black belts is to decide who can get a new Black belt..
All i took my freinds was a year they pritty much got them for turning up. but i guess it depends on the gym like i said i have very limited knowledge of TKD so if i see poeple coming from 1 gym and getting a black belt at the snap of the finger i assume it happens every were else. and lets just say these freinds didnt deserve a black belt in any thing they pritty much learned it to show off which is very disrespect full in my eyes.
its not THAT easy.. it takes many years to get it.
I agree with you their but i do think that martial arts is like rock, paper and scissors, every style as a style that its better agaisnt and a style that its worse against. but a good martial artist knows the limits and weaknesses of his/her own style and should work to improve their weaknesses. the problem ive seen with tkd is how easy it is to get a black belt i know very little about tkd but i see poeple with balck belts after only a year of training and it kinda makes me question it.
that guy toke a dive! the kick was solid the 2 punches didnt really connect and what did the knee hit to cause a KO?
Depends on what country you live in. K1 is a bigger event with more fighters from more countries. It's also funnier to watch. UFC is more popular in the US
its sad that UFC owns K1 now
you honestly really cant get away with using any single form in mma
unless you are shinya aoki
I doubt you'd know even then. I mean Karate, for example, is full of techniques for common street situations that you can never really have in the ring.
Actually, you can't get away with just BJJ anymore in MMA. TKD has its uses even in MMA. In any case, TKD in Korea is an entirely different creature than the stuff you see in strip malls in the US. They make kids hold each other's body guards with both hands and practice roundhouses in that formation.
It's K1! The worlds biggest fighting event. Do you live under a pile of mud?
It's funnier to watch than UFC, since they have better technique and never hug each other on the ground.
Thank you!(°∀°)
we won't know what the effectiveness of all those MA that teach you to blow the neck, balls, eyes etc… until there is an arena where everything is allowed, and where you can actually die.
what usually happens (or used to happen in the first ones, since now everyone practices MMA) is that some dude with a black belt in some martial art will show up and say "i'm wingtsun master" or something and fight, lose badly, and everyone will say omg WT sucks ass, but who knows how good was rly this guy ?
even these competitions with no ground fighting often comes to the point where the 2 fighters are just hugging each other and the referee has to separate them.
If the referee did not stop the match and the fight could go on the ground, it would just be the classic evolution of an ufc/mma fight.
but again, you cannot grab your opponent's ears even in a mma battle, or put a finger in his eye, or mb bite him. Try to submit a guy that will bite you or grab whatever he can in a ground fight.
lmao again i see immature people calling themselves martial artists, lol making fun of other martial arts. Its not bout the art, its bout the person, see most americans only practice a martial art for the purpose of showing off and beating people up for fun, asians like myself actually respect the art and understand the true meaning of it, i practice Tae Kwon Do, and i live my live following its tenets. So b4 u call urself a Martial Artist, think about the way you are acting.
Take a look at the movie "Fighter in the wind" It's based on Oyama's life.
Indeed it was
you think tkd is the shit and mma is stupid
meanwhile its been proven that tkd is useless in close quarters combat
you cant even tell whos fighting tkd..because their not this is like some stupid mma shit.
we have the ultimate style
mmakyokushin fuk u u faggot u talk big on the computer but ur a bitch in real life..i wud love to kick ur head clean off
sorry u balls sucking tae kwong do losers! yeap, im not idiot like all of u who think that TKD is bad, of course not, is the practitioner! But u cant compare to the worlds most strongest karate and the way we train! im a mma fighter anyway ANDY HUG KICK ASS! YEAH
oh really?? you should come to the philippines cause the most respected man here is a taekwondo practitioner!. its not the art its the person you moron… and most of the real great fighters dont compete cause they know that there is more in life than fighting in a ring..
its not the art u idiots its the person.
art doesnt do much person does.
look at bruce lee, hes jeet kune doo yup its a great art. but look at his fast and strength does it have to do with art ? if i train jeet kune do will i be strong & god like fast ? like bruce lee ? nah. its the person who masters it . its persons ability
which on is the TKD one? the on got owned?
